Euro 2012 Culinary Tour

Growing up, June was my favourite month: I celebrated my birthday, the weather was getting warm, and school was over!

However, this was before I met my italian husband. Now, June is only my favourite month on a bi-yearly basis due to Euro or World Cup tournaments. The truth is: I absolutely loathe soccer. The final score is unexciting. 1-0? High scoring game! The entire house fills up with the buzz of screaming fans or vuvuzelas. My ears cannot handle the frequency of this background noise.

I have really tried to like the sport. I tried to gawk at the athletes, but the fact that they fall to the ground for minutes at a time after being brushed by another player makes me consider them to be wusses.

This year, I am doing two things to try and become mildly interested in the tournament: 1. I started a Euro 2012 pool at work and 2.I pledge to have 16 meals, each based upon the cuisine of the countries competing in Euro 2012!
